Kansas needs you Now! More Than Ever!

As you may be aware, Kansas is currently faced with the potential 70% loss of Kansas CRP acres. This habitat loss, combined with the steady decrease in upland bird populations, is alarming. To make matters worse, we aref aced with a 40% decline in the number of pheasant hunters and a 55% decline in quail hunters in Kansas since 1985.

In an effort to help offset these challenges, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever have implemented the Kansas Grassroots Conservation Campaign. This Campaign is a comprehensive fundraising initiative developed by Pheasants Forever and a committee of outdoor enthusiasts. It is astrategic business plan focused on returning Kansas to its Glory Days of upland bird hunting.

In addition to the development of the Kansas Grassroots Conservation Campaign, Pheasants Forever and the Kansas Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) recently entered into a monumental partnership which will strive to provide every Kansas landowner with the opportunity to develop a wildlife conservation plan for their property. In doing so, Pheasants Forever will place Farm Bill Biologists in strategic NRCS office locations throughout Kansas. These biologists will "sell" Kansas landowners the conservation programs and practices that will ultimately increase the landowner's bottom line, while also providing clean water and more wildlife habitat on our landscape. It is ourgoal to impact over a million acres of Kansas wildlife habitat and secure our proud upland hunting heritage for future generations.

We want to bring theKansas Grassroots Conservation Campaign to your county, but weneed your help! We are convinced that working with landowners throughout the state is the most critical component to regaining our wildlife habitat. If you would like to learn more about how to helpplease contact your Kansas Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever Regional Representative.

Together, we can Save Kansas wildlife tradition!
